Beta Bulletin - 04.04.2008
Dear Fraters,

Pledgeship is coming to a close and we are excited for the initiation of our new members. We look forward to being one of the largest fraternities on campus as well as the most diverse for many years to come. Our pledge class consists of golfers, musicians, football players, and ten students on the Dean’s List. The Brotherhood our house has displayed this semester has been clearly seen on campus as well as around the world. During spring break, eight of our actives traveled to Acapulco, Mexico, where they were introduced to other TEKEs from chapters from across the United States.

This semester has welcomed many new house improvements as well as fundraising events. We were able to raise $2,300 for house improvements from our boxer auction. We also hope to win $1,500 for having the largest attendance among any other student organization for Millikin sporting events. This money has helped us to redo the Rec Room as well as the Laundry Room. We were able to welcome a new washer and dryer for our actives as well.

Spring Break New Dining Room

Future improvements include adding two new dinner tables to our Rec Room, another washer and dryer, and new cabinets for our kitchen. We currently do not have sufficient funds to do all of these, but hopefully with more fundraising and alumni donations we can achieve these goals. If you have any questions about these improvements or would like to donate money to the house, please contact Justin Miller.

April is home to many upcoming events for our house. This Sunday, our intramural basketball team will be playing SAE in the championship. Sunday also marks the beginning of our I-week. On Friday of April 11th, we will sponsor our second Blood Drive of the semester. On Saturday of April 12th we will be having our formal in Indianapolis. We plan on participating in Millikin’s Greek Week from April 14th to the 20th. On Friday the 18th, we will celebrate our 99th Founder’s Day with a live band and a third party vendor. This will be from 8 P.M. to 1 A.M. We welcome all alumni to visit our house during these upcoming events.

New Members New Appliances

Several actives in the house are currently looking for internships this summer and autumn for their respective majors. These majors include Business, Accounting, Chemistry, Graphic Design, and Management. Any help in this area from our alumni would be greatly appreciated. We thank all alumni for their contributions that have helped us continue to be the best fraternity on campus.

Yours in the Bond,
The Members of the Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon
