Beta Bulletin - 12.09.2007
Dear Fraters,
We are already in our last regular week of school, and every active in the house is putting forth a lot of time to finish the semester efficiently with their respective major. It has been a great three months for the house in terms of academics, athletics, and house improvement.
We have done many successful events as a house over the last month and a half. We were proud to receive the 1st place award for the canned food drive among fraternities and sororities. We were able to collect 280 cans for the event, earning us a free pizza party courtesy of Millikin. Active Jon Leganski represented all fraternities and sororities in a Fight Hate Week. We gladly supported Jon’s event, in which he set a banner of hate words towards race, gender, and Greek Life on fire. Also, before Thanksgiving Break, we held a Brotherhood Thanksgiving Dinner in the Rec Room.

Our last events for the semester include room draw and Secret Santa, which will both occur on December 12th. We are all excited for Recruitment Week, which will begin January 27th. We also plan on having a Graffiti Party on one of the first few weeks of the Spring Semester. Updates of this event will be provided.
For house improvement, there are a few areas that need attention, including the formal as well as the upstairs bathrooms. However, we do not have the sufficient funds to make our house better than it already is. Any donations to help us would be greatly appreciated.

We were proud to nominate Magon Hallowell as a TKE International Sweetheart. Magon is a double major in human services and psychology. She earns a 3.94 GPA and is a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She has also helped fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Foundation for her internship.
Our E-Board elections have just finished and we are excited for the new inductees and what they can bring to the Beta Chapter:
We are always happy to see our alumni visit during the semester. Please feel free to visit us at any time and help strengthen our relationship as Fraters of the Beta Chapter.
Yours in the Bond,
The Members of the Beta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon
